Drivers License

Street Kart is a go-kart vehicle designed to run on public roads in Japan. To drive a Street Kart on public roads, you need a valid license such as a Japanese driver's license or an international driver's license. You cannot drive without a license.

Be Aware! If you arrive at our shop without required original documents (described below) to drive in Japan,you can't join our activity and can't get any refund.

Please read below on what documents you need to obtain and make sure that you can arrive at our shop with the documents.

We recommend that you send us a photos of the driver’s license and the documents you have obtained after booking our activity via chat or e-mail (license@streetkart.com) so that we can double check in advance whether there will be any problems.

If you wish to make a booking for very near dates, you may not have enough time to ask us to double check. In that case, you will need to conﬁrm by yourself at your own responsibility.

STREET KART Cancellation Policy only allows you to cancel 7 days prior to your activity time (Japan Standard Time) without cancellation fee.

The IDP must meet ALL of the following conditions (①~⑥).

** If your IDP does not meet 1 or more of the conditions, please contact us URGENTLY. **

① The country must be a signatory to the Convention on Road Traffic (Geneva, 1949) recognized by the UN.
② The I.D.P. must be issued by a certificated organization recognized by the country or authority.
③ The IDP must be in the form of a PAPER BOOKLET.
④ The IDP must be issued in accordance with the Convention on Road Traffic (Geneva, 1949).
⑤ The license category of the IDP must be written as A, B, C, D, or E.
⑥ The IDP must have a stamp or mark in the B section of the license category.
⑦ The date of use must be within one year of the date of issue of the IDP AND within one year of entering Japan.

The Japanese driver's license is issued for permanent residents and mid to long-term visitors. It is not for short-term visitors or travelers.
